Welcome!

Our work here at the Youth and Religion Lab explores how children and adolescents think about religion. We study how they think about why we have religious practices, why religious beliefs and norms differ between religious communities, and how to navigate those religious differences. Our research is driven by the belief that these issues are important in today’s pluralistic society, for young people to coexist peacefully while preserving their unique cultural and religious identities.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Our research is made possible by our collaboration with local schools, churches, and community centers.

DEVELOPMENTAL FOCUS

We work with adolescents from the age of 11 to 18 to gain a deeper understanding of the development of reasoning and beliefs over time.

UNDERGRADUATE MENTORSHIP

The project provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain first-hand involvement in psychological research.
